We beg to refer to our letter of the 6th ulto. and

your acknowledgment of the 7th August and regret that

we have not received any further communication from you

since in this matter.

We have now received a letter from the Liquidators

of Arnhold, Karberg & Co., Hongkong, with copies of

correspondence with the Attorney General of Hongkong.

duplicates of which we attach herewith and from which

you will see the Hongkong Authorities have given

permission to deal with the goods in so far as their

permission may be required.

With reference to the suggestion to tranship the

goode to London, we beg to point out that this would not

suit us at all, as there is no use for these goods in

this country. We would require the goods to go to the

original destination, i.e. Genoa, but we shall not part

with the goods, unless our buyers agree to use the gooda
